As you could guess, most of the news nowadays is about Bode...but...there are a couple more things going on in the world...

I am now playing on our church's softball team. I'm playing my old position (1B), and batting 3rd or 4th in the lineup (imagine that). I'm batting really well (10 for 13 = .769), and having an incredible time! I am feeling my 'old' age however...I can't go as hard as I used to. I strained my hamstring in the first game, and have had to have a pinch runner ever since. I think this week I'll be good to go though...we'll see.

Careyann is doing an INCREDIBLE job as a Mom! She has all the cries and whimpers down pat, you would almost think she has done this before. She is teaching me a ton, as I question just about everything (you know, gotta analyze it!). Given my questioning nature, she really is being patient with me as well...how she does it, I have no idea. Her health is relatively well considering how much work she does with Bode, she is exhausted as you might imagine. She goes in to have an MRI on Friday to make sure everything is still good. Please keep her in your prayers!

Around our immediate world up her...two other couples which are great friends from our church have had babies as well. Matt and Diane had their 2nd child Reid, and Cameron and Lydia had their first, Madeline. We (the parents) are all pretty much in the same age group, and our kids were all born close together (Reid - 6/4, Madeline - 4/8), so we're all in the same boat, and can lean on each other for helpful hints if we need 'em. Of course, for Matt and Diane it is their 2nd, so they are the 'old pros'!

The Garden: The garden is coming along well! We harvested our first crop of radishes. They had a lot of bugs, so we had to throw away a bunch, but Dad has given me some helpful tips for next time. We have lettuce up, and it is very tasty! Peppers and tomatoes are growing fine, as well as our blueberries. The corn is also doing well I suppose...it is about 15 inches tall now (5 rows of it). Just a couple days ago, I planted some giant pumpkins. Hopefully those work out, I would love to put Bode inside one for a picture, as I was when I was little.
